Voice memo to songwriter note

How to record your ideas out loud and have Larka transcribe them into a new songwriter note.

Sometimes the fastest way to capture an idea is to just say it. Larka can transcribe a voice recording — spoken words, sung melody, improvised lyrics — and turn it into a songwriter note automatically.

How it works

  1. Go to the Record tab and record yourself speaking or singing your idea.
  2. When you stop, Larka shows the recording with its analysis.
  3. Tap Create Note from Recording.
  4. Larka transcribes the spoken content and opens a new Songwriter Note pre-filled with the transcribed words, detected key, scale, and BPM.
  5. Edit the note, clean up the transcription, and you're ready to generate.

What to say

You don't need to be precise — think of it like a voice memo to yourself:

  • ·Sing a melody and hum the words you imagine
  • ·Say "I want a song about driving at night, feeling free, key of A minor, kind of indie folk"
  • ·Improvise a verse out loud — the transcription captures it all
  • ·Describe the mood: "melancholic, slow, piano-led, no drums"

Tips

  • ·Speak clearly and at a normal pace for the best transcription accuracy.
  • ·You can always edit the transcribed text before generating — treat it as a rough draft.
  • ·The musical analysis (key, BPM) from the recording automatically carries over into the note's settings.
